The Room Series: Bathroom

The bathroom is the first place you look at when you’re staying away from home, so why should your home bathroom be any less brilliant?

A clean and tastefully styled bathroom can make all the difference in starting your day the right way. We’ve come up with some excitingly simply ways to give your bathroom the facelift it needs, without having to go extreme and call the tiler.

Have a look at a few of the ideal window treatments for this humid, water-filled room.

The Makeup

Because the blinds in your bathroom will be in a constant battle with steam, condensation, humidity and water, you’ll have to be discerning with what material your blinds are made up of.

Natural wood is not an option because it will not survive the conditions of your bathroom. But if you’d still like a wood look, you could get bamboo blinds, which are better suited to an environment like that.

You could also get aluminium blinds in a wood look, or in a range of other colours or finishes.

Another material to avoid is fabric, as your blinds will need to fight mould and dirt and be easy to clean with a simple wipe-down. For this reason, opt for polyester instead.

The Look

There are many different styles that you can use to use the material you choose for your bathroom blinds.

The classic venetian blind is a standard for a reason. Easy to open and close as you need, this blind is available in aluminiumwood-look aluminium and bamboo. Complete the wood look this with a bamboo toilet seat or a green plant to really make it really pop!
